Beginner or Pro; It doesn’t really matter.

Our training gear makes the difference between the novice and pro – it’s that simple. When you’re wearing a brand whose equipment is ‘fighter centric’ , you just can’t go wrong.
Thin gloves or a pair of hand-wraps are all you need to up your speeds with our hi-tech hand-stitched speed ball bag. It’s all about rhythm and repetition. 3 – 5 minutes every day is more than enough to get your groove in place, this develops good speed, precision and reaction time in regards to a target. It requires focus, coordination and this ultimately builds speed and coordination.

The greatest aspect of speed-bag training is ‘hand-to-eye’ coordination. Another factor when it comes to novices or amateurs, is the natural affinity to ‘blink’ when ‘something’ is inches away from their faces; namely a high-speed punch. The speed-bag trains your eye not to flinch or blink, reducing ‘fear’ induced reactions and instead making you move or block instead of freeze. This means the fighter who sees a punch coming is most likely to move away from it. Training for speed enables you to assess rhythm and patterns. This means a fighter is aware of movement and distance between him/her and his/her opponent.

It is a staple when it comes to boxing. Pads and heavy bags can only do so much for your technique. Speed-bags maintain your hand position and boxing posture. When it comes to physicality it helps build the ‘twitch muscles’ in the triceps, shoulders and allows them to be reflexive at will. This all adds to explosiveness, power and short reaction time.

A boxing gym routine is incomplete without a few rounds of speed-ball training in your training regimen – so get your gloves, face the speed-ball, and get your rhythm going. Just check out this little one trying to get hers’ going.

Ladies Boxing Gloves Size

Like men, many women are also in boxing. Whether you are a professional boxer or not, your hands need protection and you must have a good pair of gloves. They are a must have even if you are not a boxing champion. Women boxing gloves are specifically designed keeping women’s body in mind. Like men’s gloves, women’s gloves are also available in different types varying in size and colors.
The quality of women’s glove is ensured on the basis of padding for protection in them. In fact, while considering boxing gloves, everything matters – the material, stitching, wrap locks and many more. Women utilize these gloves for many purposes such as punching bag training and sparring. The most important thing that needs your consideration while wearing gloves is comfort. You can feel comfortable and easy while wearing a glove only if it’s of your size and fits your fingers, hands and wrists best. The size of gloves matter a lot while fighting. Want to know about ladies gloves size? Read on.

Women have smaller hands and slimmer fingers when compared with men’s hands. Female boxing gloves are therefore made with smaller hand cage inside it. They are more suitable for female bone structure and protect their smaller hands. Women’s gloves fit better than men’s gloves and are more comfortable. The gloves that are well-fitted reduce the risk of striking trauma to hands.

Consider the fitting while choosing the size of gloves. Small and medium gloves are usually suitable for women while men use large gloves. Choose the weight of the gloves depending on the activity for which you need them. 8 oz gloves are suitable for professional boxers if their body weight is 147 pounds or less. If their body weight is more than 147 pounds, 10 oz gloves are suitable for them. 12 oz gloves are perfect for women during training.

Generally, a good pair of gloves for women is the one which feels comfortable and fits the wrists and fingers comfortably without feeling too tight as you are forcing your hand into it. Gloves stretch with the time and therefore, it should be little tight while buying. Don’t forget to wear wraps before trying gloves. Otherwise they may become tight.
Bottom line
The size and shape of every woman’s hand is different and one should choose the pair that best suits her hand and hands feel comfortable in it.

Boxing Positions or Stances

Boxing is not all about using the best equipment. It is a sport which you can’t practice perfectly unless you know all about it. There are many things other than boxing equipment or gear which you must know about if you want to become a pro. Boxing includes not only gear, but also strategies, training, styles and stances. There are two main boxing stances. One is orthodox and the other is southpaw. The first thing that you need to decide is what stance you want to fight in. And for that purpose, you must know all about these two stances.

Orthodox Stance
This stance is normally adopted by right-handed fighters. It is a traditional stance used in combat sports like boxing, karate, mixed martial arts and kickboxing. It is a stance in which the fighter places his left foot and left hand in front of his right foot and right hand. This stance includes left handed jabs and

Southpaw Stance
It is the mirror image of orthodox stance. It is mostly used by left-handed fighters. In this stance, the fighters place their right, instead of left, foot and hand forward and keep the left foot and hand behind. In both of these stances, the weaker part of body is kept forward and the stronger one is kept behind for maximum use of power and energy.

Orthodox vs. Southpaw
Orthodox stance is recommended for right-handed fighters whereas Southpaw stance is recommended for left-handed fighters. It can’t be said that one of the stances is better than the other. If you have command over both of them, you will be able to change your position during a fight which can easily turn the tables of a fight. If you are badly losing a fight, all you need to do is believe in yourself, don’t fade away, change your stance, confuse your opponent, fight like you mean it, knock your opponent down and win the fight.

Renowned Boxers
Here are a few famous orthodox and southpaw boxers. You can watch how they fight in the ring to learn more about the two stances.

Orthodox
Floyd Mayweather Jr. - He was an expert American boxer. He possesses a track record of 49-0 with 26 knockouts.
Gennady Golovkin - He is a renowned boxer from Kazakhstan. He holds a track record of 34-0 with 31 knockouts.
Danny Green - He is a famous Australian boxer. He has fought in 39 bouts and won 34 of them. He has knocked out his opponents 28 times.

Southpaw
Manny Pacquiao - He is a world-class boxer from Philippines. He has a track record of 57-6-2 with 38 knockouts.
Victor Ortiz - He is a popular American boxer. He has taken part in 37 fights till now. He has won 30 and lost only 5 of them. 2 of his fights ended as a draw. He has knocked out 23 of his opponents.
Vic Darchinyan - This famous Australian boxer possesses a track record of 41-8-1 with 30 knockouts.

These are the two stances adopted in boxing. If you are a right-handed boxer, you should adopt orthodox position. Once you get total command over it, you should also learn to fight in the southpaw stance. If you are a left-handed boxer, you should adopt the reverse method. First get command over the southpaw and then learn the orthodox stance.
